“With Kapable, I learned to structure my thoughts, choose my words, and make my communication more intentional.”
For eight to nine years, sales had been a rewarding career for me. I was comfortable approaching people, building conversations, understanding their problems and helping them find solutions but when I entered rooms filled with senior professionals, I often felt different. I knew my work, but I didn’t always feel like my voice carried the same weight. I wanted to build the kind of executive presence that would help me speak with more confidence and make my points land.
That was what brought me to Kapable. I wanted to become more intentional about how I communicated, especially in situations where I had to speak with leadership or make my point in a room full of people. I had seen Kapable through its ads and testimonials, but I took time before deciding to join. I wanted to experience it for myself and see whether it could actually address what I was struggling with.
As the sessions progressed, I started becoming more conscious of how my thoughts came out when I spoke. Earlier, when I had several ideas in my head, they could come out without much structure. I would also tend to explain more than necessary. Over time, I became better at thinking through what I wanted to say, deciding where to start, what to say in between, and how to bring the conversation to a clear close.
That shift also changed how I approached conversations with senior leaders. I became more comfortable initiating conversations, breaking the ice and understanding when it was time to close one. I also became more aware of how I showed up when giving feedback. I learned to acknowledge what someone had done well, address what needed improvement and still leave the person feeling capable of doing better.
The change became something I could see in my everyday work. I began deliberately slowing down when I spoke because it gave me more time to think, choose my words and communicate with greater control. I even started reviewing my sales calls to identify filler words and areas where I could become more concise.
I’m still working on it. I still get cold feet sometimes, and I’m learning to be comfortable putting these changes into practice but the biggest difference is that I now have a much clearer understanding of how I want to communicate and how I want people to experience my presence.
For me, Kapable didn’t change who I am. It made me more conscious of how I show up, gave me a clearer direction, and helped me start building the presence I was looking for.
