“I’ve always had a lot to say, now because of Kapable I know what needs to be said first and how.”
I’ve always had a lot of depth to bring into a conversation. Over time, I realised that the same depth that made my thinking rich could also make my message harder to follow.
My career has taken me through leadership roles across logistics, customer care, banking and telesales, followed by a long sabbatical to raise my two children. When I eventually moved into executive coaching, I realised that coaching was where my skills, values and purpose came together. I launched my own company in 2023 with a clear goal: helping people recognise their brilliance and what they are capable of becoming.
As I stepped further into coaching, I wanted to strengthen the communication skills that would help me take that work to a wider audience. I wanted to become better at thinking on the fly, speaking impromptu and structuring my thoughts, while still sounding like myself.
That became the focus of my work with Kapable.
One of my natural strengths is the ability to think in multiple dimensions. I bring in stories, examples, analogies and different perspectives because I genuinely see the connections between them. The challenge was knowing when those connections were adding value and when they were taking me away from the central message.
I started becoming much more conscious of this pattern. Instead of letting every thought make its way into the conversation, I began asking myself what I was actually trying to convey. I learned to anchor the main message earlier, complete one chain of thought before moving to another, and then use my experiences and examples to strengthen the point.
I saw the difference in practical situations too. In one round table, I had prepared extensively and entered with too many points I wanted to contribute. I became so focused on getting my thoughts across that I lost alignment with the conversation. In another, I came in without preparing every point, listened to the group, allowed the discussion to develop naturally and contributed from there. The difference was significant.
Today, I can recognise much earlier when my communication is becoming too wide or losing structure. I can also tell when I have communicated well without needing someone else to validate it.
There is still practice involved. I want these skills to become second nature without making my communication feel engineered or overly polished. For me, the goal is to keep the depth, authenticity and emotional connection that are part of my style while becoming more precise and intentional.
Ultimately, stronger communication gives me a wider platform for the work I care about: helping people see their own potential and what they can become.
