“Kapable helped me replace instinct with intention, so I can pause, reflect and respond with greater clarity.”

I have always been someone who could bring clarity to chaos. As a transformation and engineering leader, I often work in high-pressure environments where teams need someone to anchor the situation, reduce anxiety and help everyone move forward. But through my journey with Kapable, I realised that even with years of experience, there were aspects of how I led that I could refine.
One of the biggest shifts was learning to pause.
Earlier, my instinct was to pounce into a situation, especially when something was going wrong. I wanted to solve the problem, prove that I could handle it and make sure my team had an answer. Kapable helped me recognise this pattern and understand that pausing before responding could change the way I handled a moment.
Today, I consciously try to slow down, reflect and respond with intention. I have moved from operating largely on instinct to being much more deliberate about how I communicate, how I handle conflict and how I respond under pressure.
Another important shift was how I view feedback. I no longer see feedback as something personal. I see it as a leadership tool that can help me improve. I am also more conscious of challenging people without cornering them, looking for shared goals and finding a middle ground when there is conflict.
This has changed what I believe leadership should look like. Earlier in my career, I was more focused on proving my technical expertise and getting things done. Today, I care much more about the clarity and value I bring to the entire team. During high-pressure situations, I want people to feel that they are not dealing with the problem alone. We are in it together, and my role is to create enough clarity for everyone to move forward.
I also became more conscious of how I communicate. I now think about the audience, what they need to take away and why they should listen to what I have to say. Instead of simply sharing everything I know, I focus on making the message relevant, structured and grounded in real experience.
The biggest takeaway for me is that this journey is not ending with graduation. I want to keep working on pausing, taking feedback as a tool, handling conflict better and communicating with greater structure.
I don’t see the programme as an end point. I see it as a baseline for how I want to continue to lead, communicate and grow.
